Boycott the boycott!

I'm glad that all these people are boycotting BP. That's just freaking great, considering that a shizillion barrels of their oil are pouring out into the Gulf this very SECOND.

But really? Really it just HAPPENED to be BP. The same thing could've happened to Shell, or Exxon (oh wait, it already did). So what you're boycotting BP. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Backstreet Boys (who just announced that they're boycotting BP) are still using SOME kind of oil to travel around to their little concerts.

You know what, just freaking don't even boycott anything at all. The baby seals won't be able to tell the difference between Shell and BP. What's it gonna get anyone? Say everyone boycotted BP and they were run into the ground. Your money's still gonna go to the other oil companies. Change your freaking LIFESTYLE. Ride a bike. I bet none of the Backstreet Boys could even get to their next gig on a bike.

I'm sorry. It's just that this is the dumbest thing I ever heard of.

The Cast

Andrew: My friend at Howard. He's a baritone/bass and is one of Yoda's minions.He's a youtube user and self-educated Harry Potter expert. We can be really unproductive together because we crack each other up too much.
Anyu: Mumsy, Mommy, Mummykins. 'Anyu' is a remnant of our years in Hungary. My mom's freaking awesome. We're like the Gilmore Girls or something, except not white. Well, she is. But we don't live in a little white town, and I don't go to the frat school Yale.
Aunt Donna:My mom's friend in Seattle. We call her aunt because my mom was dating her brother at the time. The brother's long gone, but Aunt Donna's still around. She's one of those wild partyer aunts, whom you could call if you ever needed a condom or something.
Carina: My friend in Cleveland. She loves early music and fencing and fantasy and Shakespeare. She's majoring in music and has the most beautiful voice. She draws body art with Sharpies. Every year we spend all of Memorial Day weekend at the Folklife Festival in Seattle.
Danielle: She doesn't show up much in this blog because she doesn't show up much in my life. But we're really tight. She's a history major in New Jersey who works for equality every day and has a mean sense of humor besides. She's gonna be the number one person I have besides me when the revolution begins.
Dr. Timbrell: My piano teacher. He's pretty cool, except be careful if you drive with him. Schumann's his favorite.
Jim and Dee: They're like my adopted grandparents in the Northwest. They run the music school I used to go to on Saturdays, and Carina and Sean and I used to go to their hours for ensemble singing all the time. They have a giant cat named Bob.
MADUSA: This is the house I live in. I’m still not sure why it’s called MADUSA. Located in a rapidly gentrifying area of DC, it’s filled with six women in their 20’s with bachelor’s degrees. All hotties. All hippies. All bad-asses. All our food is communal, and we refuse to let meat or televisions into the house. I have the squarest job of all of them.
My Lady Friend: My lady friend. We met a year-and-a-half ago and have been pretty couple-y and inseparable since. I think we've actually made some people throw up. She's a dog person and is really funny and sarcastic but also laid back. She's a dentist and a Pisces. I normally don't like fake names in blogging, but she shouldn't be affiliated with me where she is now. If you don't ask I won't tell.
Randy Bull: Woman by birth, gentleman by choice. Randy's my drag king persona. He's real sexy. He likes big band music and plans to perform a song one day. He's sensitive and caring on the inside. He's a charmer with the ladies, but his real passion is gayboys.
Ryan: My little brother. I guess I should say younger because he's actually pretty enormous. Not fat or anything, just muscular. He's an expert in like, seven different kinds of dancing. Just got accepted to a dance company, even though he only started last year. I'm trying to get him to come to Howard when he graduates.
Shannon: My baby sister. She works with kids in Washington State and is actually good with them. At least one of us is. She's also a fishing expert. When we were younger we both used to go around the stables pretending we were ponies.
